London International Awards Name FCB Health as Global Health & Wellness and Medical Network of the Year

LIA 2018_WINNERS

Barking Owl, Los Angeles was Awarded the Health & Wellness – Craft Grand LIA  

LIA, one of the most prestigious Global award shows in Advertising, Digital, Technology driven work, Health & Pharma and Branded Entertainment, today announced the winners. The 33rd Annual London International Awards judging convened over a 10-day period. The Juries, drawn from the world’s most recognized talent and presided over by industry leaders, viewed and scored every entry within their medium, ensuring that all the work was judged equally.

A total of 68 LIA statues were awarded in LIA’s Health & Wellness, Medical and Health & Wellness and Medical – Craft competitions. Three separate juries judged all the entries.

“As an awards show, we are really invested in Health & Wellness and Medical. This is creative work that changes lives for the better,” said Barbara Levy, President of LIA.  “That’s why, this year, LIA decided to run a competition to help Gorilla Doctors.  We realized how important this work is as gorillas share more than 98% of human DNA.  So any progress is helping this species is also a way forward to help mankind,” added Barbara Levy.

The Health & Wellness jury led by Timothy Jones, Havas Lynx Europe awarded 19 Statues and 6 Finalists; 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze.

“­The quality of this year’s entries was matched only by the quality of the Health & Wellness jury. They were the best creative minds I’ve had the honor of meeting. And better yet, we got the opportunity to see some of the best work in the world: work that saved lives; work that changed laws; and work that ultimately made a real difference. We took real pride in making sure the work that made it on that list was worthy – so if you got a shortlist at LIA, it’s a big deal.  Well done to all the agencies and creative teams that managed to convert their work into a shiny, winged statue.” remarked Tim Jones.

The Medical jury led by Marcia Goddard, McCann Health, awarded 17 Statues and 5 Finalists; 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 5 Bronze. According to Marcia, “There were some great pieces of work. And a few were unanimously voted as Gold.  As a jury we want to increase this category, so we set very high standards.” 

The Health & Wellness and Medical Craft jury was made up of top creatives and production executives, led by Laura Gregory of Great Guns. They awarded 35 Statues and 6 Finalists; 1 Grand LIA, 8 Gold, 10 Silver and 16 Bronze.

Barking Owl, Los Angeles won the only Grand LIA in Health & Wellness and Medical.

They were also named the Regional Music & Sound Company of the Year.  In addition to the Health & Wellness – Craft wins, the winning work “Corazón” was honored by the Branded Entertainment and Music & Sound juries.
